Symptoms and Supplementary Devices, An Attempt at Problematization
Clinical Subjectivities
By Sidi Askofaré, Laurent CombresEnglish
As it stands, psychoanalytic theory offers several models that can identify the effects of psychotic structure in the subject. Compensation, decompensation, triggering, stabilization, symptom and supplementation will first be located in the elaborations of Freud and Lacan. The contribution that follows consists in identifying their logical articulation, which does not appear at first glance in their work, by using the concept of substitution which until now has been little used to understand the mechanisms of psychosis.
