Lacan considers female jouissance as “Other” to its male counterpart. It is in any case difficult to define, especially since, as clinical experience teaches us, it can easily be simulated by a woman. But why does a woman put herself in the position of faking an orgasm? What are the stakes of this practice? We will try to show that faking orgasm is not simply synonymous with frigidity. This can obviously be the case; however, it may also be a source of for a woman and, paradoxically, an expedient able to the “encounter” with the other possible.
